On June 30, 2005, Lucille Roch became Deputy Minister of Culture with Deputy Minister Responsibilities for the Office of Francophone Affairs. On June 1, 2007, she was made responsible for the Ministry of Community and Social Services while keeping the Francophone Affairs portfolio.
Ms. Roch was formerly the Assistant Deputy Minister, Strategic Policy and Planning, Ministry of Children and Youth Services. She has also served as the Assistant Deputy Minister, Culture, Sport and Recreation, Ministry of Culture and Recreation and was seconded to the position of Assistant Deputy Minister, Strategic Planning in the ministries of Community and Social Services and Children and Youth Services.
She has held senior management positions in the ministries of Community and Social Services and Cabinet Office, the federal government's Industry, Science and Technology Canada, the Manitoba government's Economic Policy Unit, Planning and Priorities and Société Franco-Manitobaine. Ms. Roch has a BA in philosophy and sociology from St. Boniface College, Manitoba and an MA in sociology from the University of Manitoba.
