Francophones in Ontario

Accent on Youth strategy

The Accent on Youth Strategy was launched by Madeleine Meilleur, Minister Responsible for Francophone Affairs in December 2008 in Ottawa. This ongoing project of the Office of Francophone Affairs is designed to encourage Ontario's Francophone youth to speak French and to become actively involved in the development of their communities.

Over the coming months and in cooperation with youth and its partners in government, the community, and the private sector, the OFA will implement initiatives to make the French language even more attractive as the language for culture, work, and socializing in French Ontario.

To achieve these objectives, Accent on Youth will focus on strategic alliances between the ministries of the Government of Ontario, community organizations, and businesses in the private sector. Initiatives to make the strategy come alive will be announced in the coming months.
